Where are you originally from and what City/State do you currently live?
I grew up and went to school in Anchorage, AK. I was born in Palmer, AK and spent a lot of time there, especially as a young kid. Currently I live in Anchorage, AK.
How did you feel when you heard you had been named an Ahtna Employee of the Year?
I felt surprised and very appreciated. It’s great to see our team receiving recognition for all the work we’ve put into employee programs. We have been pushing hard all year to get new programs launched, especially selecting and implementing the new LMS, as well as rolling out new trainings and workshops and enhancing team processes. I’ve really enjoyed seeing our concepts and ideas start to blossom.
What made you want to work for the Ahtna family of companies?
Working for an Alaska Native Corporation (ANC) appealed to me as a great next step. I was looking to expand my experience and knowledge, and Ahtna has definitely helped to stretch my skillset in new directions. I was also looking for an organization and team that I could be excited and proud to be part of, and that would be a good fit. Ahtna drew my interest as a local company and with its diverse work across industries.
What do you love most about your job and the work you do?
The team is by far the best fit of anywhere I’ve worked. There are also plenty of learning opportunities. There are often new and challenging projects to take on. It makes the days go by quickly and keeps me growing.
